Timișoara City Celebration 2026 came to a close after four days during which Timișoara served as the setting for one of Romania’s largest urban celebrations. Between July 31 and August 3, over 100,000 Timișoara residents and tourists took part in more than 200 events held at over 30 venues across the city, as part of a program developed in collaboration with the community and dedicated to cultural diversity, creativity, and local spirit.
This year’s edition brought together over 50 cultural and sports organizations from Timișoara, which helped create an unprecedented program. From major concerts on I.C. Brătianu Boulevard to neighborhood events, performances, exhibitions, art installations, sports competitions, guided tours, and children’s activities, Timișoara Day once again confirmed that the city celebrates its identity through collaboration and participation.
The main stage on I.C. Brătianu Boulevard brought together international, national, and local artists and provided some of the most memorable moments of the festival. The audience welcomed Beth Hart, The Script, and Marija Šerifović to Timișoara for the first time, alongside artists such as Irina Rimes, Satoshi, Dora Gaitanovici, Alexandra Căpitănescu, JazzyBIT & K-lu, and the Timișul Ensemble, along with special guests Monica Anghel, Nico, Daniel Iordăchioaie, Andreea Voica, Alexandru Brădățan, Aurora, and Săndel Mihai.
Among the most moving moments were Beth Hart’s concert, Danny O’Donoghue’s appearance in the middle of the audience during The Script’s concert, the surprise duet between The Script and Irina Rimes, and the evening dedicated to celebrating Serbian folklore and the Serbian community in Timișoara, featuring Marija Šerifović.
At the same time, Civic Park and I.C. Brătianu Park have become a hub for Timișoara’s local music and creative scene. Festivals and organizations such as Flight Festival, CODRU, JAZZx, Psihodrom, Time to Rock by FITT, Muzicon Hub, Guilty Corner, Embargo Hub, and many others have brought concerts, showcases, installations, and experiences to the public, highlighting the city’s creative communities and providing visibility to local and independent artists.
The program has expanded to all neighborhoods in Timișoara, where partner organizations have organized exhibitions, performances, guided tours, workshops, artistic interventions, sports activities, and projects focused on heritage, cultural education, and the community. From the reopening of the Iosefin Water Tower to events in Kuncz, Fabric, Cetate, Elisabetin, Liberty Square, and the Uszoda Area—organized by the Timișoara Municipal Sports Club and sports organizations funded by the City of Timișoara—Timișoara Day invited the public to discover the city from new perspectives.
One of the most spectacular moments of the festival was *Meraviglia*, an impressive show featuring aerial acrobatics, water, light, and fire, which premiered in Timișoara’s Victoriei Square. The production brought back to the city center the excitement and grandeur of the major urban spectacles of 2023 and drew thousands of spectators to each of the two performances.
This year’s edition also continued to expand accessibility measures. Concerts on the main stage featured interpretation in Romanian Sign Language, and participants had access to facilities designed for people with hearing impairments and those on the neurodiverse spectrum, as well as hydration stations with free drinking water and an expanded public transportation schedule. Timișoara City Celebration 2026 demonstrated, once again, that Timișoara is a city that builds its celebration together with its people and organizations, bringing major international productions into dialogue with the local scene and the city’s cultural heritage.

The next edition of the event will take place from July 30 to August 3, 2027.
